We operate six public toilets in and around Penzance town centre and work with 14 businesses across the parish as part of our Community Toilet Scheme.
We took over the responsibility for running 6 public toilets in our parish from Cornwall Council in 2016 to ensure that they would remain open.
Over the last three years we have invested £50,000 to improve the facilities and have employed local cleaning contractors to maintain them.
We are pleased to report that all of our public toilets are now open and the current opening times are below.
Alexandra Playpark: 08:30-18:30
Penalverne: 08:30-17:30 (weekends and bank holidays only)
Princess May: 08:30-18:30
South Pier: 07:30-19:30
Tourist Information Centre: 08:00-19:30
Whilst we have increased the cleaning across all sites we cannot guarantee that contact surfaces will have been cleaned after each use, therefore please follow guidelines installed at each facility referring to considerate use and social distancing.
We were one of the first local councils to introduce a Community Toilet Scheme. The scheme has been developed in partnership with local businesses to provide clean, publicly accessible facilities with extensive opening hours at various locations across the parish.
We recompense all businesses involved in the scheme to provide this service free of charge to members of the public.
We currently have 14 community toilets across the parish
You can find specific locations on our map below or download the map and leaflet here.
You do not need to spend any money at the participating business to use the facilities.
