Penzance Town Council

Penzance Annual Town Meeting, 15 April 2019

The Mayor and Councillors of Penzance invite the people of Penzance to attend the Annual Town Meeting in St John’s Hall, Penzance on Monday 15 April 2019 at 7pm.

Who is it for?  All the electors of Penzance.

Who are the electors? Anyone aged 18 or over who is registered to vote and is resident in Penzance, Gulval, Heamoor, Newlyn, Mousehole or Paul.

What happens at a Town Meeting?  The Annual Town Meeting is a chance to meet your councillors and find out about issues and projects that affect everyone in the town.  It’s also an opportunity for you to raise matters with the Council and ask questions.

Is it just a lot of facts and figures?  Not at all. There will be a review by the Mayor of the activities of the Town Council during the last year and there will also be information on key developments and projects which will impact on the town’s future.  Members of the public will be able to ask questions of the Councillors at the end of the meeting.

At 5.30pm, immediately preceding the Town Meeting, representatives from a variety of local community groups will be setting up stands in a market-style event in the Main Hall.

This will provide an ideal opportunity for community groups and members of the public to find out more about activities and events taking place within the Parish community and also to meet and chat with your Town Councillors.

The Mayor and Councillors hope that as many people as possible will attend the meeting. The town belongs to everyone and we should all have a voice in its future.

Hester Hunt

Town Clerk
