Penzance Council is looking to fill two strategic administration roles, based in their offices in Penlee Park, Penzance.

This is an exciting and challenging time to join an expanding team of officers serving a Council that is committed to a programme of growth and reform as more facilities and responsibilities are devolved to Penzance Council in line with Cornwall Council county-wide programme of devolution.

Finance & Administration Officer

Salary Range :          SCP 8 -12 (£19,945 - £21,589)

We are seeking an experienced and forward-looking person for the full-time position of Finance & Administration Officer.  This is a key post providing general finance and administrative support to Penzance Council and members of the Council Management Team.

The position requires an individual with strong customer service and inter-personal skills, a can do attitude and a proven track record in business administration and teamworking. Excellent communication (written and oral) and IT skills (MS Office suite of applications) are essential.   An aptitude for financial/accounting matters is also required.

Communications Officer

Salary Range :          SCP 8-12 (£19,945 - £21,589)

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and outgoing person for the full-time post of Communications Officer.  The main focus of the role is to promote and market the many and varied aspects of Penzance Council activities within the Parish of Penzance and to raise the profile of the Council within the local community.

The position requires an individual with strong customer service and inter-personal skills, a dynamic and can do attitude with a proven track record in website and social media management, marketing promotional material and preparing timely and eye-catching copy for publication and press release.  Excellent communication and IT skills (MS Office) are essential.  The role also involves assisting with Reception duties and providing some administrative support, when required.
